Vivid Festival for Art and Technology
Vivid Light, Music & Ideas Festival is an event which started out in 2009 from Sydney, Australia. It offers a unique opportunity to interact with some of the most cutting edge art and technology on the planet. This year the 23 day festival will take place between May 27 and June 18, and will not only wow with its colourful light installations across the city but also host worldwide creative thinkers to come and share their ideas against the backdrop of mystical sounds.
The line-up already include stellar names such as rock band New Order, Bon Iver, composer Max Richter, jazz bassist Esperanza Spalding, producer Ta-Ku, director Spike Jonze (Her, Adaptation, Being John Malkovich) and the creators of two hit Netflix shows, Beau Willimon (House of Cards) and Jenji Kohan (Orange is the New Black).
Feature star, Icelandic Artist Björk will also be there and recently announced that she would take part to premiere her virtual reality project. For her, VR is the natural continuity of music videos, as “the merge of surrounded sounds perfectly fit intimacy”. With LA artist Andrew Thomas Huang and UK filmmaker Jesse Kanda, they created seven 360-degree videos to accompany her latest album ‘Vulnicura’, including one you can already see below.
