Brian Eno Pens New Years Passionate Call To Arms

The man behind some of the greatest records of the last few decades, including David Bowie’s Low and U2’s Joshua Tree, Brian Eno has written an impassioned plea on his Facebook page concerning the state of world affairs.

In it he writes about the slow degradation of civilisation over 40 years and how in 2017 this should be a more pivotal year than ever for everyone in terms of mobilizing positive action. He says, “This is the start of something big. It will involve engagement: not just tweets and likes and swipes, but thoughtful and creative social and political action too.”

Brian Eno is part of a new political arm called DiEM25, a pan-European, cross-border movement of democrats which also includes ex finance minister Yanis Varoufakis. He has also just released a new LP, Reflection out on Warp Records.
He finishes the letter by saying, “There’s so much to do, so many possibilities. 2017 should be a surprising year.”
