Watch Joaquin Phoenix Play Paralysed Cartoonist in New Gus Van Sant Film
As Sundance kicks off for another year, new exciting indies present their work for the world to see. This year one of the most anticipated is Gus Van Sant’s new flick, Don’t Worry He Won’t Get Far on Foot. It includes a who’s who of the indie world in both music and film. Starring a very slim almost Dennis Wilson looking Jonah Hill. As well as Rooney Mara, Jack Black, Carrie Brownstein, Beth Ditto and Kim Gordon. That is quite a cast indeed.
The film is a biopic based on the autobiography of cartoonist John Callahan which tells the heartbreaking story of a 38-year-old quadriplegic and a recovering alcoholic trying to get his life back on track. As ever Joaquin Phoenix stuns us with his incredibly immersive look and acting, playing every bit the role as you will see. The use of John Lennon’s Isolation is every bit the perfect touch in the trailer.
It’s been a while since Gus Van Sant released something with which we truly gushed over. Promised Land and Sea of Trees from 2015 and 2012 both received mediocre reception at the box office and with critics. But we cannot wait for this. Take a look.
