Whilst the world has been looking more and more like a tumble dryer as of late, some people still get together to try and do something about it. It’s called the World Economic Forum and for those that don’t know what it’s all about. It’s basically where the world’s highest net worth individuals, most intriguing thought leaders, most powerful governmental delegates, doers/shakers from all sectors come together to discuss, to disagree and to highlight some of the worlds biggest problems. It has been going on since 1971, and it’s seen pretty much every major VIP walk through its doors since it started.
This years event will include such dignitaries: António Guterres, the new Secretary-General of the United Nations, the President Xi Jinping of China will arrive with the largest delegation since the conference started. Heads of NGOs include Co-Chair Helle Thorning-Schmidt, Chief Executive Officer of Save the Children International and former Prime Minister of Denmark; Meg Whitman, President and Chief Executive Officer, Hewlett Packard Enterprise and scientist & Director-General of CERN Fabiola Gianotti, and what conference wouldn’t be complete without the singer Shakira.
If you’re wondering what this years focus will be they have laid out four areas: strengthening global collaboration, revitalizing economic growth, reforming capitalism and preparing for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. if you want to get involved just head to the link at the footer and find out more details.
